How the daily figure is worked out
Three things run at once while a vehicle waits: the money tied up in it, the fixed costs of keeping it, and the value it quietly gives up. The tool adds the three, divides by 365, and every other number on the page is that one multiplied by a number of days.
The cost nobody invoices you for
Financing and insurance are easy to see because someone bills you for them. The value the car loses while it stands is usually the largest of the three and no invoice ever arrives, which is exactly why a vehicle can sit for four months and still feel free.
Why a price cut can be the cheaper option
Keeping a vehicle at its full price is not the same as keeping it for nothing. If thirty more days cost you six hundred, then a five hundred cut that sells it this week leaves you ahead, and hands you back the money to buy the next one.
Your figures stay on your machine
What you paid and what you make on it is nobody's business but yours. The whole calculation runs in your browser: nothing reaches us, nothing is stored, and the only thing that ever leaves is the link, if you choose to copy it.
